Representing You
Too frequently, the consummate professional forgets to address some of the key aspects of representation. The most important aspect is the ability to effectively communicate with their clients, which is something I personally strive to establish and maintain. As your lawyer, I have a thorough understanding of the criminal justice system in which you find yourself. As your lawyer, communication is vital in negotiating with those who are attempting to prosecute you. An inability to communicate with all those involved in or employed by the criminal justice system often results in a less favorable outcome for you the client. My personal philosophy embraces the importance of communication in assessing your case, and fighting for the most favorable outcome.
Making the right assessment is essential in helping you to secure the best possible outcome. When I assess your case, I have to base that assessment on the good and bad facts. Good facts being those that will assist me in seeking dismissal or an acquittal at trial, and bad facts being those that will assist the prosecutor in seeking some kind of conviction. This risk analysis of each case certainly overlaps into the arena of plea negotiations.

This assessment phase requires what I call front-ending cases. It involves thorough investigation, gathering as many facts as possible at the outset. It involves using those investigative facts in aggressive negotiation with the prosecution. It involves not accepting initial "plea bargains" from the prosecution, but using my many years of experience as a lawyer to aggressively negotiate the best possible disposition for you.
In Colorado, plea negotiations are part of the judicial process, and one of the tools used to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each case. As your lawyer, I exercise a great deal of prudence when approaching plea negotiations as they are invaluable in understanding the possible avenues the prosecutor is focusing on in determining the strengths or weaknesses of their case.
Should plea negotiations fail, we will go to trial. I have extensive knowledge and experience to represent you at trial, and I am well versed in trial techniques to aggressively represent you at trial.
Representation must meet your legal needs, but must also contemplate the emotional upheaval you find yourself when accused by the State of committing a crime.
My commitment to you is to effectively, aggressively, and compassionately represent you.
